A kick-start for the festival!
Finally Oygospel 2008 has started! Close to 350 people were gathered in the church when this year's Oygospel Movie officially was played. The plot in the movie is that Oygospel is in dire need of funds, so a couple torpedoes are hired to pressure the city council. We have to say that the movie doesn't have much root in reality, though we're thrilled to see the next episode on the Friday meeting.
Oygospel is about music, so it didn't take long before Confess entered the stage while the audience cheered. This bunch of people gets their audience warm quick enough, no wonder when they sing with power and immersion. Convoy performed immediately after, and they didn't dissappoint in any way either. They are very skilled, and it shines through that they enjoy to sing. We're always extremely happy for having Confess and Convoy at the festival, without these two choirs it just wouldn't be the same, kind of!
Then it was time for praise singing. The praise team this year comes from the Salem ministry in Kristiansand, and they did a great job tonight! We're pleased that they're going to join us the rest of the weekend!. And finally Jens Ole Hoiaasen got to start his speech. He's always very engaging to listen to, it's difficult not to be fascinated when he tells interesting stories and about his personal experiences. The theme for the speech was the power of God, and a challenge to dare to let God work in our everyday life. After the speech everyone was invited to prayer, accompanied by the praise team.
