Dream Pilots - a perfect take-off!
The first musical part of the evening was served by the Norwegian band Dream Pilots. They have visited Oygospel one time before, in 2003, when they carried the name Salvation Street. That was an incredible concert in Flekkeroy church, which still habe a good place in my memory. Singer Oddi Nessa told that he remember that concert asone of the best he's ever had!
Dream Pilots started right away with what you could call the title song, "Comedown", from their last album "If You Ever Come Down". Further they played the radio hit "One More Time", and several rock songs such as "Pick Me Up - Knock Me Down", "Begging You", "Eye Candy" and the more calmed down "Throw Myself". We also got to hear a couple great classics from the time the band was named Salvation Street
Actually, this was a great concert! Oddi is a good singer who keeps the attention of the audience, while Gulleiv Wee plays bass and guitar as if he's done nothing else. Inge Engelsvold absolutely have full control over his keyboard, and makes a significant contribution to the special sound of the band. And the drummer, Karl Oluf Wennerberg really is impressive, he beats his drums in a way that makes it all look very simple and easy!
It was just a little too bad that most of the audience seemed to save their strength for the Petra show later on. Because Dream Pilots plays rock an incredible drive, and might as well have been the headliner on a concert of this size. Still, this is music that easily gets on your mind, and makes you want to sing along with all of your voice. This is definately not the last sound we will hear from this band!
