Beautiful from Sigvart Dagsland!
The festival could hardly have gotten a better ending than this concert! Not very surprisingly, Sigvart filled the church, close to 400 people got to experience this concert. And that's just so many we're able to seat in the main church room. We did not see more than three free seats, and some people chose to stand as well. This was also the concert during Oygospel 2007 with the most varied audience in terms of age. You could find people in all ages, from the very youngest to people well beyond 70. Judging from the feedback we received afterwards, the concert was to everyone's taste!
Sigvart went on stage together with the singers Ingfrid Straumstøyl and Anki Hellgor and sat down behind the piano. After a few songs he asked for a pianist from the audience, and surprisingly a man stepped up. But when the joke was revealed it turned out the voluntary was supposed to take part in the concert, he was the pianist Torjus Vierlid. Sigvart performed most of his songs standing, accompanied by Torjus and with moody backing vocals from the ladies. But towards the end he played the piano again while Torjus moved over to the keyboard.
All in all this was an incredibly beautiful and moody concert, with a calmed-down image. The audience sat dead still listening, mesmerized by Sigvart's amazing voice and music. He still took his time to tell the story behind a few of the songs. He stayed in good touch with the audience all the time, and got some extra attention while he performed two songs from his next upcoming album. This one will probably become a success, because we really liked what we heard!
When Sigvart went off the stage people was standing and clapping. After eager shouts for more he came back and performed two bonus songs. But the audience still didn't get enough so he just had to come back and sing one more! In total the concert lasted for nearly two hours, and that was not one single minute too long!
There was also a TV-crew attending. They're making a documentary about Sigvart Dagsland, wich will be shown on Norwegian TV2 some time in September, close to the release date of his next album.
